Scoil Mhuire Girls' NS Debate team make it to the regional final.

Our Sixth Class Debating Team participated in the Concern Primary Debating Competition 2022/2023. After a highly successful campaign, where the team displayed not alone a tremendous natural talent for public speaking but also a fantastic display of teamwork and support for fellow team members, they secured a well-earned place in the Dublin Final of the competition, which took place on Tuesday 28th February in Dublin West Education Centre. Scoil Mhuire was opposing the motion ‘The SDGs are a waste of time’ against St Choilmclle SNS. Scoil Mhuire Debating Team, consisting of Aoibheann Dillon as captain, Sabaina Shehzad, and Isabel McCabe, put forward a passionate and well-researched argument which impressed all spectators present on the day and they competently refuted the propositions arguments. Although not successful on the day, the Scoil Mhuire Debating Team are incredibly proud of all they have achieved this year and plan to keep debating as they move forward to Secondary School.
