On May 22nd, eight pupils from 6th Class in Scoil Mhuire GNS travelled to Limerick for the National Final of the Scratch Competition.
The pupils created interactive computer games during their after school Coding Club lessons and were delighted to hear they had made it to the final which took place in the Kemmy Business School at the University of Limerick.
Emma Lim, Sofia Orbu, Naomi Martin, Meryl Siju, Prarthana Joseph, Lucy Monaghan, Leah Archbold and Chloe Meyer presented their projects to the judges and answered questions about the process of creating their computer games and the challenges they faced when coding their game.
The girls each received the Judges Award for their projects. A huge ‘Well Done’ to each of the groups.
