Our school is currently working on our next Green Schools Flag for Global Citizenship: Travel. This theme focuses on encouraging more sustainable modes of transport such as walking, cycling and public transport for the school journey. On March 11th our 1st Class pupils took part in a ‘Scoot-Safe’ workshop with Green Schools Travel Officer Paula Carroll. Scooters have gained considerable popularity in recent years and are an excellent alternative to independent car travel. The ‘Scoot-Safe’ workshop ensured that children are aware of basic safety rules and ways to keep themselves safe when scooting be it for school journeys or as a recreational activity. Pupils had great fun learning how to use their brakes, how to adjust the various parts of the scooter and exploring the basic safety rules to use when scooting.
Thank you to Paula Carroll for visiting our school and providing these workshops.
