A Literary Feast at Scoil Mhuire GNS: Week Two of the Ready Steady Read Festival!
Week two of our Ready Steady Read Festival was full of excitement as pupils from Junior Infants to 6th Class took part in our ever-popular Scoil Mhuire GNS Book Tasting.
Now in its third year, thanks to popular demand, this unique event saw the Old Hall transformed into a cosy Book Tasting Café by Ms. Byrne, Ms. Callanan, Ms. Ward, Ms. Campion, Ms. Walsh, and Ms. Smith. With soft tablecloths, menus, and mellow tunes creating the perfect atmosphere, the stage was set for our young readers to dive into a literary experience like no other.
The Book Tasting kicked off on Monday, 3rd March, and ran until Friday, 7th March, with multiple tasting sessions taking place each day, expertly facilitated by class teachers and members of our Support Team. Throughout the week, pupils sampled an array of ‘tasty’ reads, including a wide selection of fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, silent books, picture books, and works by both international and Irish authors.
It was an amazing opportunity for students to explore new genres and discover books they wouldn’t normally pick up, all in a fun and engaging environment.
