A Week of Creativity at Scoil Mhuire Girls' N.S. - 'Open The Door To Reading' Event
This past week at Scoil Mhuire Girls' N.S. was filled with excitement and creativity as pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth Class participated in our highly anticipated 'Open The Door To Reading' event, part of the Ready Steady Read Festival 2025.
Students and teachers channeled their imaginations by transforming classroom doors into vibrant representations of their favorite stories and fairytales. The result was an eye-catching array of artistic and beautifully decorated doorways, showcasing some of the much-loved book titles our pupils have discovered throughout the festival.
Each class took part in a lively 'Book Walk,' where students roamed the corridors to admire the door designs and gather inspiration for future reads. It was a wonderful opportunity to explore new books and celebrate a shared love of reading within our school community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Annemarie Gleeson, Ms. Roisin Gleeson and Ms. Ruth Mulligan from the Ready Steady Read Festival Team for their fantastic organisation, as well as a huge thank you to all our teachers and students for their brilliant door designs!
